The French-Italian border at the Montgenèvre pass. By day: Tourism, capital invested to make the mountains profitable, seasonal jobs that provide a livelihood for many of the region's inhabitants. By night: The fragile destiny of more than ten thousand adults and children who, in the span of four years, have risked their lives to cross the border, and who have not been seen, are not seen, will never be seen.
