EthnoKino presents: Students' special, Starless Dreams & Makala

EthnoKino is an ethnographic film program by students of the Institute of Social Anthropology of the University of Bern. Our aim is to make aspects of ethnographic filmmaking accessible to a wider public, its topics ranging from human labour, political activism, spirit possession and much more. More than just “documenting the real” visual anthropology makes full – and sometimes experimental – use of the medium film’s potential on a quest to frame and experience manifestations of life from different cultural and political contexts around the world. Every semester we present a handpicked selection from major film festivals and invite filmmakers for Q&A.
NEW!: This semester we present a pre-program dedicated to students’ short film submissions. They will be screened always before the main screenings at 7:45pm. Be there early! The bar is open from 7:15pm.
